One of
Bulldog's customers is claiming that the much troubled provider may be preparing to launch a 20Mbps broadband product. We recall
Bulldog first mentioning ADSL2+ services roughly two years ago, but have since heard very little:
He told us: "I called yesterday to cancel my nightmare subscription and they tried to convince me to stay by telling me they are about to announce a 20 meg connection in the next couple of weeks."
Bulldog is also on tenterhooks amid concerns that Ofcom could launch an investigation into the broadband ISP. A decision on whether officials at Ofcom - who have received hundreds of complaints about the company - will launch an official inquiry could be made as early as this week.Typically
Bulldog is refusing to comment and the information source is flimsy at best, but would fit in with the providers past ADSL2+ boasts.
It may be that
Bulldog is attempting to steal a march on new rival 'Be', which itself will begin taking orders for a trial of its 24Mbps service this week.
There's also fear that new generation 8 to 24Mbps services will be promoted in such a way that customers may be lead into believing that such speeds are what they will actually receive, which is unlikely to be the case (you'd have to be very close to the exchange). More @
