Be is preparing to kick off its much fabled 24Mbps broadband ADSL2+ service in London with a FREE pilot until the end of September. The first orders are expected to be taken before the end of this week, but is £20 per month too cheap?:
In addition to experiencing speeds of up to 24 meg downstream and 1 meg upstream the fastest in the UK pilot members will pay nothing until October 2005. Each member will also be provided with a free Be Box wireless router, opening a gateway to new online experiences.
"We are hoping to build a very special community of pilot members," said Dana Pressman, Managing Director of Be. "For anyone interested in new technology and the fastest speeds, this will be a must have product."
Be has built a completely new network based on the latest ADSL2+ technology, allowing it to deliver a very high quality product at an exceedingly competitive price.
"The Be team has worked really hard to be able to be the first ISP to offer ADSL 2+ to Britain," said Dana Pressman. "We are all really excited about launching such a groundbreaking product."
Be are guaranteeing a monthly broadband service charge of just £20 (payable from 1 October 2005) for all pilot members Bes way of thanking pilot members for helping them to ensure that the service and processes are as good as possible at the time of the full launch later this Autumn.
To join the pilot, Londoners will need to have a BT telephone line that can be connected to a telephone exchange where Be has fitted their equipment. Weve still yet to see any finalised product details, although the proof of the pudding will be in seeing how the ISP has coped after 6/12months.
