Despite all the talks, NTL and
Telewest have so far been unable to agree on how best to brand their newly merged operations:
Simon Duffy, president and chief exec at NTL, told investors, "Clearly we do need to have a single brand across the whole company when we go live on day one in three to seven months time," he said. "We in NTL have done some work on that... but we haven't reached a conclusion because clearly we want to consult and evolve our new colleagues from Telewest on that."Unfortunately this news is unlikely to ease the growing fear among
Telewest's broadband users. So far neither provider has managed to clearly communicate what this merger will mean to their respective customers.
Many have grown concerned that they may lose the performance and flexibility of their existing packages to NTL's more restrictive model. More @
