Vispa Internet Suffers DOS Attack

Posted: 21st Aug, 2005 By: MarkJ
Vispa Internet has become the latest UK ISP to be targeted by a 'Denial of Service' (DOS) attack, which bombarded the provider’s core network with a 215Mbps stream of data.

The DOS attack started at around 09:40 this morning and caused a number of service performance problems. Thankfully work to restore the network has now completed:

All servers and services have been checked to ensure they are working as should, many of which were in a state of "panic" following the attack and needed a gentle push to get back up and working.

Engineers continue to monitor the situation.

The attack may have originated from China.
