Customers report that KCom (formerly Kingston Communications) has lost its connection to BT because of a "routing" problem. The issue, which affects users in the Hull area, has caused both e-mail and general connectivity problems.
The operator has issued the following update, which quietly directs some of the blame towards BT:
The KCOM Group and other Internet Service Providers are experiencing a general network issue that has been affecting Internet and Email services across the UK today. This fault has resulted in some customers experiencing intermittent Internet and Email service.
Whilst this network fault is outside of our control we are working with network providers at the highest level as a matter of urgency to resolve this issue and return to a normal service.
