People logging into any of the "FREE" broadband
Wi-Fi Hotspots operated by
free-hotspot and
online-4-free may find themselves subjected to a video advert for the new Ford Mondeo car before being able to surf.
Typically such services often fund their operation through advertising, usually via static webpages, although the above method is relatively recent and could tie the connection up for nearly a minute. Mind you, it is "FREE".
Thankfully there are a number of pay-as-you-go (payg) options without advertising, which cost up to £9.95 for a 2GB monthly usage cap (online-4-free.com). One hours access with a 100MB quota would set you back £2.95.
