The UK reseller and support site for Netsystem's satellite broadband service, Netsystem Users, has announced its intention to donate a fixed amount from each new signup to charity:
The pricing and usual features of packages will remain unaffected, the only difference being where the profit ends up. The proceeds will be as follows: For every quarterly Netsystem subscription taken out, £7 (10) will go to charity. For an annual subscription, £20 (28.50) will go to charity.
Subscribers can either choose the charity that they wish their contribution to go to, or let the team at Netsystemusers.com decide. Well happily donate to any worthwhile charity.
Whether the consumer needs to do a fair amount of downloading or simply wants a boost to their browsing performance, Netsystem gives a choice of two packages along with a choice of two contract periods. While both packages offer a bandwidth of 300kbit/s, the cost per Gigabyte is much lower than most competitors.
The SatADSL package Offers 1.5GB per month non cumulative per month which should suit most users needs for browsing and light downloading. This package is priced at 49 per quarter or 196 per annum. For heavy downloaders, the SatADSL Plus package offers 6GB non-cumulative per month priced at 99 per quarter or 360 per annum
Finally, unlike many satellite broadband competitors, Netsystem wholly owns its transponders which are strictly used for satellite ADSL data traffic only. Many competitors either share the bandwidth of a transponder with competing satellite broadband providers or consume a portion of the available bandwidth on multimedia streams. In either case, this means less bandwidth for data traffic and more congestion during peak usage periods.
