Sadly not everybody has welcomed last weeks broadband speed boosting announcement by BT. Many users of the no-frills 1Mbps 'BT Broadband' package, which now jumps to 2Mbps, have seen their usage allowance cut in half.
The £24.99 per month service use to exist with a respectable cap of 30GB, yet the hike to 2Mbps has dropped this to 15GB. Typically some people have sent off angry mails, professing that they'd rather have a 30GB allowance than the extra speed.
Customers could of course always move to BT's 30GB capped 'BT Yahoo! Broadband' (£29.99) package, which is suddenly very well aligned in price and service to the stats of the old BTB offer.
