Gio Internet situation, also points out that North Ayrshire Trading Standards has issued a helpful notice to those with complaints:
Gio internet provide internet access via various packages from dial up to broadband. From December 2004 Gio internet have used Wescot Credit Services to chase up outstanding debt across the UK. You may have received a notice of Debt Collection indicating a date by which you must pay. This amount can vary from a few pounds to several hundred.
If you have received a demand letter which is incorrect please follow the procedure below:
* Contact Wescot immediately and follow this up in writing to Wescot asap and keep a copy. Explain the situation to them and also send a copy of response to:

Irvine.

If you feel the matter is not being resolved to your satisfaction please contact your local Trading Standards or directly to us here at Trading Standards at North Ayrshire Council.
