BT's forthcoming broadband Internet TV (IPTV) product, BT Vision, has once again expanded its content portfolio thanks to a new deal with film company DreamWorks:
This agreement will bring DreamWorks current movies to BT Visions video-on-demand service. At launch, BT Vision customers will be able to enjoy a vast range of film, music and television programming all available on-demand as well as all the Freeview channels, plus interactive and communications and all available on the TV, with no compulsory subscription.
This deal with DreamWorks will provide BT with output from the producers and creators of such critically acclaimed and commercially successful motion pictures as War of the Worlds, and the Shrek franchise. Upon launch, DreamWorks will provide BT Vision with titles such as Steven Spielbergs Munich; Madagascar; Just Like Heaven, Red Eye and the award winning Wallace and Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit, for its consumers to purchase on an on-demand basis.
This agreement provides BT Vision with popular current films in the pay-per-view window and, through BTs existing deal with Paramount, an extensive range of older and classic films, all available for consumer purchase on demand.
BT Vision is due to launch sometime during autumn this year.
