Orange's (formerly Wanadoo) broadband service has been hit by a major national outage, which has been occurring since yesterday. The problem has been blamed on an unspecified network equipment failure; meanwhile the service status page offers even less information:
We are currently experiencing network issues preventing some users from accessing their broadband service. We have engineers working on these issues now and apologise for the inconvenience caused.
Thankfully the ISP has since issued a statement to elaborate, explaining that the problems are restricted to the tens of thousands of customers on its unbundled (
LLU) broadband platform.
The provider is currently working to restore access as quickly as possible, suggesting that it could take another day before everybody is reconnected.
