Thanks to reader Darkspark for letting us know that the little known ISP
Upstream Internet has a limited (first 1,000 people) "Free" Broadband promotion running. The offer is part of an agreement the ISP has with '
Free Stuff Junction'. Typically there's a catch:
You have the opportunity to have a super-fast broadband ADSL connection, at least 10 times the speed of normal dial up, and in some cases up to 6-7 Mbits per second, for precisely £0 per month. That's £0, zero, nada, nothing, zilch, zip, nowt! Basically, in any given month, if you refer new customers with new broadband lines to us, your broadband will be completely free that month! However, there is NO pressure. If you don't refer any lines you simply pay your normal monthly charge for your broadband. Here's how you get free broadband for each of our current ADSL packages:
ADSL Light (£19.99 per month): FREE if you refer 2 lines
ADSL Standard (£29.99 per month): FREE if you refer 3 lines
Don't worry if you don't make your full 2 or 3 referrals, there is no minimum. We will credit your account with £10 discount for each and every new referral you make, even if it is only 1 in a given month.
Once again, free rarely means what it is supposed to.
