Residents of Reading in the South-East of England will be pleased to learn that Vodafone's HSPA based Mobile Broadband service is finally reaching their town, which has been part of the operators extended rollout program (original news) since May:


Vodafone's service claims to offer download speeds of 'up to' 7.2Mbps and uploads of 1.8Mbps, though in practice this is more like 2Mbps+ (download), due to the variability of service coverage and network capacity.

Never the less, some anecdotal speed testing research suggests that Vodafone offers faster real-world speeds than their rivals, which typically output closer to 1Mbps+. Packages cost from £15 per month for a 3GigaByte (GB) monthly data allowance; check our Mobile ISP Listings for a comparison.
