BT has proposed that the first 300 Ebbsfleet homes to be connected up to its next-gen fibre broadband network should be done so at a discount. The operator has requested that
Ofcom allow it to offer cheaper line rental and connection rates as part of its Fibre to the Premises (FTTP) pilot.
The promotion, which could even allow BT to offer the services for free (unlikely we think), would be for the period of August 2008 to December 2009.
Ofcom has proposed to accept BT's request due to its limited national impact and will consult on this until 7th July 2008.
