Sheffield-based UK ISP
PlusNet has today announced the launch of a new broadband and phone package for just £16.99 a month. The package is based off a 12 month minimum contract and includes speeds of 'up to' 8Mbps, a 1GB data allowance (usage between midnight and 8am is free), home phone line rental and all weekend UK landline calls.
Those using over the 1GB cap during peak times will be charged £1 per GB in advance or £1.25 per GB after. The package has been at least partly designed as a response to the current economic slowdown:
Neil Laycock, Plusnets CEO, said: There are millions of people paying too much for their broadband and not getting a decent service. It is our response to the economic slowdown. Customers want value-for-money deals and we are confident this fits the bill.
Plusnet has also launched a new look, revamping its website and unveiling a new company logo, although at the time of writing we didn't notice any significant differences. Existing customers may also be pleased to learn that the ISP has doubled the included usage on its Broadband Your Way Option 1 package to 2GB, with the price remaining at just £9.99.
