Breathe Networks Limited (BNL) has acquired small UK ISP
Fast4 for an undisclosed sum as part of a merger with
NJP Services Limited. As a result, NJPs directors, Steve Kaye and Nick Pulsford, will become Chief Operating Officer and Chief Technical Officer of BNL respectively, taking over responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the combined company:
Marcus East, BNL's Chief Executive, says: "We are delighted to be joining forces with Fast4 to strengthen our management team, and continue growing our customer base and business. Steve and Nick are well known figures in the industry, and bring a wealth of experience that will be important in our companys continued development."
BNLs newly appointed Chief Operating Officer, Steve Kaye confirmed that there would be no disruption to Fast4s customers, stating: Fast4 users will not experience any changes as Fast4 has simply become part of the BNL group. We are looking forward to working with Marcus and his team to grow the business, and with other ISPs who want to benefit from our combined strength and operational platform.
BNL will reportedly continue to operate Fast4 independently, alongside its other brands, which include breathe, macunlimited, Ecosse, Intensive Networks and Bush Internet.
It's also understood that the company has a number of new product launches planned for 2008, although no further details have been released at this time. It is not known whether the move will impact any of NJP's existing supply contracts, such as with Redten Internet.
UPDATE: We've been informed that the deal will not impact NJP's existing contracts (e.g. Redten).
