ClearMyMail, a UK based anti-spam (junk email) software company, has published its latest SPAM research, which includes a list of the top 10 most junk e-mail targeted UK ISPs for Q2 2008. Sadly
Orange continues to be top of the list:

In contrast, MacLimited.net and Sky have demonstrated some positive results; MacLimited.net was previously in 6th place, with an 85.9% average spam rate and Sky was previously in 7th place with an 84.9% average spam rate; both ISPs have now dropped off the scale showing a significant increase in their protection against rogue emails.
ClearMyMail also looked at which countries produce the highest number of UK targeted spam and, much like Q1 2008, the UK and USA are sending the most spam to UK email accounts. However, the UK is now the biggest culprit, sending 19.65% of all spam emails; 0.02% more than the USA, who were at the top in Q1 2008 and 3.97% higher than the UK ranked in the last quarter:
Top 10 Countries Sending Spam to UK Email Accounts
1. UK = 19.65% of UK spam comes from UK
2. USA = 12.57%
3. Uruguay = 7.40%
4. Turkey = 7.22%

The figures showed that, on average 30,846 spam emails were blocked per customer in Q2 2008, in comparison to just 8,156 emails blocked per customer in Q1 of the same year. This is an increase of approximately 22,690 spam emails blocked in just three months.
A breakdown of these emails reveals Royal Bank of Scotland to be the main company targeted by
phishing attacks. Customers who choose
Orange as an Internet Service Provider receive the highest percentage of spam for the second consecutive Spamming Index, and the UK is now guilty of being the main source of
phishing attacks. Joy.
