Sorry, in our coverage of all the recent broadband subscriber movements we missed the latest half yearly 2008 results from Telefonica,
O2's (
Be Broadband's) parent company. Happily its broadband subscribers have continued to grow, rising from 131,420 at the end of March to 194,220 at the end of June 2008:
Telefonica
O2 UKs DSL broadband service registered 62,800 net additions in the quarter, and 123,510 in the first half, leaving the total broadband customer base at 194,220 at the end of June.
It's worth pointing out that
O2 managed to add +60,711 net additions during the first quarter of 2008, making them the only major UK ISP so far to show strong positive growth in Q2; most providers have reported a slowdown in quarterly uptake.
O2 and
Be Broadband have clearly managed to separate themselves from most of the pack with a good balance of price, performance and reliability.
