BT has hit back at this mornings launch of a new cheaper business broadband product from Opal (
original news) by slashing the prices of comparable products. The operator cut its 8Mbps
BT Business Total Broadband Option 3 package from £40.50 to just £30 per month +vat.
However
BT didn't stop there and has also slashed the cost of its Option 1 package from £19.79 to £15 per month and its Option 2 package from £26.99 to £25 per month. Meanwhile preparations are already underway for
BT to introduce its first 'up to' 24Mbps (ADSL2+) services:
Bill Murphy, managing director of BT Business, said: Businesses need more than just broadband access; they need a complete service to drive competitive edge. Whats the point in buying a steering wheel when you need the rest of the car too? BT Business hasnt just introduced massive savings for small businesses across our broadband packages; at the same time were giving them more at less cost to ensure they can weather the economic storm.
Opal has yet to offer the full spec of its new packages and as a result we are unable to compare both services side-by-side.
