Apple's
Safari Website Browser might not grab the headlines like Internet Explorer, Opera, Firefox or Chrome but it's just released version 4 beta certainly has some new and very attractive (iPhone style) features. The enhanced
Nitro Engine is one such improvement, which claims to make Safari 4 the "
the worlds fastest web browser".
Safari's performance improvements may be open to debate but Apple has also added iPod style cover flow navigation, a native windows theme (not shown below), tabs at the top of the window, history search, top sites (visual summary your favourite pages), improved developer tools and all the usual bug/security fixes:
The beta is currently freely available for anybody to download and try, not that the market really needs another browser alternative. Hopefully it will be an improvement over Safari 3, which claimed to do a lot but suffered from some security woes and didn't look right on Windows.
