Be Broadband's parent company,
O2, has nudged its popular ISP sibling to overhaul and revamp their admittedly somewhat quirky brand identity. It's understood that Engine Group agencies Dave and Altogether Digital have also been brought in to help develop a new portal (website) for the provider:
Oli White, Be head of marketing, told
NewMediaAge, "
O2 has committed to us being a standalone, premium broadband service, and that means more investment into our site - that's something we're conscious has needed to be done for some time. Not every 18-34 male identifies with a pink star; we have a lot of people who are into downloading games and movies as subscribers so we want to look align more with them."
So it looks like comically bizarre pink stars topped with peoples heads could be on the way out, a truly earth shattering revelation in anybodys book. Here's to hoping that Be doesn't lose too much of its barmy branding. Perhaps tanks with tigers sitting on top; do we get the job?
Nutters, but we love them.
