Staff working at Phones4u stores around the UK have reportedly become discontented with the groups
Sky Broadband deal. Workers at the mobile phone retailer, whom have been asked to sell Sky's bundled services for over a year, frequently complain of difficulties with the sale process and poor commission levels.
Installing the satellite TV part of Skys package will often need special permissions from a landlord or homeowner. Staffers are also required to contact head office for authorisation, which occurs each and every time a new transaction (sale) needs to be made.
The
Mobile Today item reports that staff have even faced trouble when helping to migrate customers from their old broadband ISP and on to Sky's, though they dont elaborate on this point. There have also been gripes about the low levels of commission paid by Sky for sales, which is allegedly half what
Virgin Media offer despite requiring more time and effort to sell.
Meanwhile BSkyB is understood to be in advanced discussions with
The Carphone Warehouse to sell its services via the groups Wireless World stores.
