New figures from
MoneySuperMarket show that bills for UK based broadband services have decreased by 13.9% over the past 12 months. In addition over two-thirds (70%) of adults don't use the same provider for these services and could be saving nearly £26 per month if they did:
James Parker, commercial manager of mobiles and broadband at moneysupermarket.com, says: "One of the advantages of bundled deals is the amount of money people can save. With providers fighting for new customers and dropping their prices, savvy consumers can easily change to a better deal.
Dealing with different providers and organising various bills can be a nightmare. However, with bundled deals youll receive just one bill each month making it far easier to keep an eye on expenses. Also if something goes wrong you only need to ring one provider."
Mind you, adopting the '
one for all' approach isn't always the best idea. Long contracts can lock you in and if one aspect of the bundle fails then you're usually stuck with it.
Some of the bigger providers also adopt aggressively low (competitive) pricing. This leaves precious room for future investment and can sometimes result in a poor service and support quality. Its important to base your choice on a balance of factors and not just one.
