Consumers Think ISPs Fail to Prevent Harmful Online Content

Posted: 06th Dec, 2008 By: MarkJ
The latest YouGov survey for Mott MacDonald Schema reveals that 48% of Internet users do not believe ISPs and social networking sites are doing enough to prevent harmful online content from being accessed. The survey of 2000 surfers also found that 90% of respondents expected parents to be accountable for protecting their children online.

However 64% felt that both ISPs and websites should be held responsible for harmful content and 62% felt that the Internet would benefit from tougher regulation. Sadly trust in ISPs appears to have taken a further hit, with over one in three saying they would not trust their provider with common personal details, such as age.
