UK ISP NewNet Expands Unbundled Broadband Cover

Posted: 06th Feb, 2008 By: MarkJ
NewNet has announced the addition of three further unbundled (LLU) exchanges this month, adding Cosham, Havant and Gosport to Fareham, Portsmouth Central and Portsmouth North which are already in service.

The providers expansion of its unbundled broadband services won’t stop there though, NewNet are also planning to unbundle exchanges in Reading, Basingstoke and Bracknell during March 2008:

In addition to expanded availability, the company announced new business class services from £31 per month providing unlimited office hours usage with download speeds ranging from 512k to 24meg.

Peter V Coates-Buglear, CEO, NewNet plc said: “Through unbundling these exchanges, we are delivering on our commitment to provide super-fast reliable NewNet Direct internet services to the South Coast and beyond."

It's impressive to see an ISP from the smaller end of the market pull this offer. The move will not only allow them to remain cost competitive but also gives the provider more control over their infrastructure and the ability to offer ‘up to’ 24Mbps ADSL2+ based broadband services.
