The BBC reports that an average of 250,000 TV programmes were either streamed or downloaded each day following the iPlayers (IPTV) Christmas Day launch. The number of users streaming content outnumbered downloading by a factor of eight.
The most popular programmes watched via iPlayer since launch included the Doctor Who Christmas Special, Top Gear and the festive edition of EastEnders. It's also reported that nearly 50% of viewed content came from niche programming, outside of the traditionally more popular shows.
