Don Foster, the shadow secretary of state and culture for the Liberal Democrat party, has written to BT's chairman, Sir Michael Rake, requesting an explanation for the operators secret 2007 trial of Phorm (
original news). He is also pushing for the adoption of an "opt-in" only method:
"It is essential BT are open and honest about their activities last summer. The relationship between Internet Service Providers and their customers is based on trust. A secret test would seriously threaten that relationship and undermine BTs integrity."
The Conservative's shadow foreign secretary, William Hague, has joined the fun by writing to the Department for Business, Employment and Regulatory Reform to voice his constituents' opposition to Phorms deal with
Virgin Media, BT and TalkTalk. More @
