Ofcom has released two new documents today, one proposing cheaper LLU broadband prices (
HERE) and the other covering the margin between IPStream ADSL and ATM interconnection prices (
HERE).
Typically the latter is likely to be of most interest as it directly relates to BT's recent business broadband ADSL price hikes, which has had so many ISP's up in arms. Sadly the last paragraph pretty much says it all:
S.8 On the basis of the obligations in the attached Direction, BT's current ATM interconnection prices and its proposed IPStream prices are compliant. No doubt providers will be going over the document like hawks, although they'll find little salvation in the pages.
Thankfully there's better news on the part of Ofcom's proposed local loop unbundling price changes, which appear to be recommending a raft of further discounts.
