The Wi-Fi Alliance is getting tough and "may" remove the "
Wi-Fi CERTIFIED" status and logo from products that go beyond IEEE 802.11 standards and conflict with each other:
Frank Hanzlik, managing director of the Wi-Fi Alliance, said: "If a product extension significantly impacts the ability of other Wi-Fi CERTIFIED equipment to operate as intended, the Alliance may withhold or revoke certification. We have taken this important step due to the Wi-Fi Alliances continued commitment to a positive consumer experience."Why didn't they do this to start with? More @
