We've yet to see a full press release, yet various sources are reporting that Ofcom has found BT in breach of competition law in relation to its residential broadband ADSL pricing.
It's being claimed that BT has infringed Section 18 of the Competition Act 1998 and Article 82 of the EC Treaty. The original complaint was initiated by
Wanadoo UK at a time when
Oftel (now Ofcom) was still around.
The regulator has sent an outline of its objections to BT, including a proposal for change, although it's not yet known exactly what has been said (price hike?). Hopefully we should have more details soon..
