Despite taking a hit in other areas,
Telewest has still managed to continue growing its broadband subscriber base. The cable operators latest interim results point to a broadband revenues increase of 62% to £55 million.
During the second quarter
Telewest was able to add 30,000 (10% growth since March 2003) new cable modem connections, brining the current total to a cool 341,000.
Roughly 30,000 of those users are currently on the operators 1Mbps package, with 5,000 on their newer 2Mbps option. The average broadband revenue per user has risen by 2% to £22.95, which is largely contributed to the new 2Mbps package.
In terms of dialup, Telewests Blueyonder ISP division has 64,968 local call rate users and 193,406 unmetered surfers. The overall total comes to 587,700.
