Bulldog Touts 40:1 Contended ADSL

Posted: 22nd Apr, 2003 By: MarkJ
UK ISP and Telecoms operator Bulldog Communications has today announced the introduction of two new broadband ADSL products for the residential market.

Hot on the heels of launching their 1 and 2Mbps 50:1 contended service; their new offers are based around a 40:1 contention:

Bulldog Sets the Pace for the Broadband Residential Market with Launch of
New Services

* Introduction of market-leading prices for 1Mbps and 2 Mbps services
* 40% price reduction on Bulldog's high-end residential product line, BizTime

Bulldog Communications, the only alternative DSL broadband network provider serving both the UK residential and business markets, today announced the launch of two new high-speed residential broadband services: AllTime 1000 and Alltime 2000. Bulldog is launching these new 1 and 2 Mbps products today in over 100 exchanges, with plans to offer expanded presence to over 600 exchanges within the next few months. Bulldog's 512 kbps downstream product, AllTime 500, is currently available on a national basis through any DSL-enabled exchange and is priced at £19.99 (ex-VAT).

Consistent with Bulldog's aggressive market pricing, the new AllTime 1 and 2 Mbps products are competitively priced at £29.99 and £44.99 (ex-VAT), respectively. For customers who are in the first round of exchanges, Bulldog is currently taking orders. Pre-registration requests are being processed for customers interested in Bulldog services in other exchanges.

Continuing its leadership in delivering choice and innovative unique broadband offerings, Bulldog is featuring a 40:1 contention ratio for its newly announced AllTime 1 and 2 Mbps products. The 40:1 contention ratio is 20% better than the standard 50:1 ratio featured on most other broadband products available in the market.

Coinciding with this product introduction, the company announced it has slashed the prices of its BizTime products, Bulldog's business-grade services for the serious home Internet user. Customers can now realise savings of around 40% on the BizTime products: BizTime500, BizTime 1000 and BizTime 2000. These BizTime products have a 20:1 contention ratio and are available on a nationwide basis now through any DSL-enabled exchange.

Richard Greco, Bulldog's CEO stated, "With this diverse range of products, Bulldog is well positioned to give the home and home office user the speeds and affordable prices they deserve and want today. Bulldog was the first DSL network provider to offer high-speed DSL broadband services of 1Mbps and 2Mbps for the home user. And, our speed-shattering 4 Mbps service continues to hold the distinction of being the UK's fastest broadband Internet service for the residential user. We will continue to fight for a fair, competitive marketplace that allows Bulldog to continue to offer top value, compelling and innovative products, and quality alternative DSL services for the consumer."

The complete range of AllTime, BizTime and PrimeTime products is attached. Customers can visit Bulldog's website http://www.bulldogdsl.com to order products online that are available today and pre-register for products coming soon.
