NTL launched its new Playstation 2 (PS2) and a PC broadband service. This service allows 600K customers to access the internet and play online with the PS2 together. A second IP number allows both accesses at the same time for £29.99 a month.
The PS2 went online in the UK last week, with the launch of a network adapter, costing £24.99, and two multi-player titles.
NTL's 600K Broadband with a PS2 connection will cost £29.99 per month, the same price as NTL's 600k Broadband with an Xbox Live connection. It costs £24.99 for NTL's standard 600k service.
Both services come with the necessary equipment or cables to split the broadband connection, enabling permanent connections from the modem to both computer and console. According to NTL, in tests it has taken less than five minutes to install the connection.
Bill Goodland, director of internet at NTL, said: "We are delighted to be getting on board with PS2 and it's great to be able to offer a new service to their many customers. Our service removes the hassle of changing connections, reconfiguring the PC or installing new software."More information about what the PS2 can do online visit
