Ic Ayrshire reports that the local Irvine exchange has finally been upgraded to support ADSL. The move has apparently sparked some fierce competition between Omne Communications and BT:
Omne are offering free connection and half price rental for the first three months while the telecom giant is offering the first month free.
The two telephone exchanges in Irvine have been updated to allow broadband connections after trigger levels were reached.
Omne - rescued from a financial crisis earlier this year - say customers will have access to the fastest and most advanced internet service in the UK.Thanks to Jim for the heads-up.
