Famed TV presenter Carol Vorderman has linked up with the NSPCC to help promote safer Internet surfing for children:
The children's charity will lobby the government to ensure that all computers sold into the UK domestic market have child protection software pre-installed and set to a high level to filter out harmful content, contact and commerce.
As part of the campaign, the star is urging web users to send an e-postcard to Trade and Industry Secretary, Patricia Hewitt, asking that immediate action be taken to provide children and young people with this extra measure to protect them when they surf the net.Perhaps asking for all domestic market systems to have the software installed is a little too extreme.
