SCS Broadband has responded to this mornings news item (see below) in which the new UK broadband satellite ISP, 2point4, chose to withdraw its service:
In response to the story posted this morning, SCS would like to clarify that we had no contact with 2point4 regarding the withdrawal of their satellite broadband service. This is a decision they made after discussions with their reseller, Bluestream Broadband (Russia).
Bluestream Broadband has a reseller contract with SCS Broadband to sell the Jetstream product in Russia and the Ukraine, only at this time. They are not currently licensed to sell the product outside these areas, as their website claims. This has been discussed with Bluestream, and is being amended today.
We have spoken to 2point4 this afternoon, regarding these issues, and they are unfortunately withdrawing their services as stated.
SCS Broadband only offer a 3 month contract to customers residing in Russia and the Ukraine, when purchased through Bluestream Broadband. SCS Broadband are currently, not offering anything less than a 12 month contract in the UK and Europe.
