Freeserve ISP Signs Fox DVD Deal

Posted: 15th Apr, 2003 By: MarkJ
UK ISP Freeserve has signed an exclusive 12 month portal integration deal with Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment to help sell DVDs:

FOXTVDVD is a new brand launched by Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment to provide a single place on the Internet for all of its hit TV shows, including The Simpsons, 24 and Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

The companies said that one of the key aims of the relationship, which will be backed by extensive media advertising on key products, is to provide the extensive fan base of the TV shows with a primary destination for the most up to date news, features and promotions to build up their DVD collections.

Freeserve's 4.7 million unique users will have access to exclusive promotional offers on Fox TV's DVD's via Amazon, and the campaign kicks off with the opportunity to win the entire Fox TV back catalogue on DVD.

The exact cost of the deal isn't clear, although a 'six-figure' sum has been touted. More @ netimperative.info .
