The latest research from
Churchill Insurance suggest that UK Internet users are becoming addicted to surfing, with 60% of those surveyed now claiming a dependency on it:
More than one in ten (13 per cent) internet users have even admitted they have cancelled or turned up late for an appointment, meeting or date because they are too entralled in the net.
Searching for information is the most popular use of the net (56 per cent), while 33 per cent say that they mainly use the internet for communicating with friends, family and work colleagues via email.
Just under 20 per cent use it for shopping, with books and CDs (50 per cent) and booking travel tickets (37 per cent) named as the favourite online purchases. One in four surfers use the internet to look after their finances.It all sounds a bit like the early days of the motor car; more @
