Tiscali have sent emails out to some of their members who are persistent heavy users. This follows on from another email sent out a month ago asking for members to reduce their online hours to less than 150 a month.
Some members reduced their online time after the email, while others ignored the request and have now received another message telling them that their Tiscali accounts will be terminated on the 3rd June:
Earlier this month Tiscali amended its Ts&Cs to impose the cap on its AnyTime dial-up service. At the time it claimed that some people were using the service excessively and that their "level of usage is adversely affecting the service we can offer other users".
At the same time it emailed a "small percentage of [its] AnyTime customers who were persistent heavy users in every one of the last three months" telling them that unless they curbed their usage they would have their accounts terminated.
The email tells says: "Your usage has remained above the maximum limit of 150 hours per month, and we have seen no significant reduction in your usage since we contacted you."Tiscali declined to say how many members had received the email. More @
