PlayStation* 2, the second generation PlayStation from Sony Computer Entertainment has launched a new broadband online Network Gaming service.
The PlayStation Network Gaming service is compatible with both BT's mass market consumer broadband products - BT Openworld Broadband and BT Broadband - and it's quick and easy to connect a PS2 to the internet for the purposes of online gaming.
PlayStation 2 network gaming opens up a new dimension for PS2 gamers, offering fast game-play with friends and family all over the world. The service allows 'collaborative game play' for a seamless, truly interactive experience, and also allows players to talk with one another as they play using the game's headset.
Pierre Danon, head of BT Retail said:
"Gaming online over a broadband Internet connection is just fantastic. Once players have experienced this new way of playing console games, they'll never look back. The PlayStation 2 Network Gaming launch signals a new era in home entertainment. Developments in this arena are dependent on broadband access, so this deal is wholly in line with BT's commitment to achieving Broadband Britain whilst providing the best possible online experience."
BT is the ADSL partner of choice for PlayStation 2, and will be working with Sony to promote the service to customers. For more information
