Business travellers on Virgin Trains could soon benefit from newly unveiled plans to offer six months free broadband wireless (Wi-Fi) access:
As well as mobile access on the move, the 'ReadytoSurf' scheme will allow executives to use hotspots installed in Virgin Trains' first class lounges at London Euston, Coventry, Birmingham New Street, Stoke-on-Trent and Manchester Piccadilly stations.
When the special offer period ends the operator will roll out a subscription-based service to 16 Virgin West Coast Main Line stations later in 2004.
"Demand for connectivity on the move is growing rapidly, especially for our business passengers who need access seamlessly and frequently," said Mark Sears, marketing manager, product and new media at Virgin Trains, in a statement. The
VNUNet item reports that the service is provided by Broadreach Networks, although
