Aramiska and BT sign global trading agreement to extend delivery of business broadband
Aramiska, Europe's leading satellite broadband service provider, and BT Global Solutions today announce that Aramiska has been selected as an authorised supplier. The two companies have signed a global trading agreement that will allow BT to take advantage of Aramiska's managed broadband satellite access services throughout the UK, and Europe.
Following a period of evaluation, the service has been selected by BT Global Solutions for use within a number of outsourcing contracts, where Aramiska's experience and capabilities will provide specific benefits and an additional access option to complement BT's existing capabilities.
With over 3,000 business customers in Europe, Aramiska has established itself as one of the leading satellite broadband providers, offering business users high speed service packages of up to 2,048 Kbps downstream and 512 Kbps upstream data transmission. Using superior open standard satellite technology, DVB-RCS (Digital Video Broadcasting-Return Channel System), Aramiska's two-way service not only provides business users with a fast, reliable and cost-effective Internet connection but also is the first to offer a unique fully managed and fast VPN service to multiple site organisations.
Philippe Bodart, CEO, Aramiska, said: "This agreement marks another milestone in the Aramiska success story. Working with a company such as BT will not only help further drive growth, but will potentially increase the number of larger companies using Aramiska broadband technology. Satellite technology has traditionally been seen as a niche technology for a select market, but this deal highlights the growing acceptance of Aramiska's satellite technology as a real alternative and its viability for a wider audience".
Richard Buckingham, General Manager of Major Client Solutions Design and Delivery said: "Although we have looked at this mainly from the point of view of serving our existing and new customers in the government and finance sectors, we are pleased that it will be available to other BT business units as well. The Aramiska offering fits very well with our approach to the provision of managed services in the outsourcing market, and is acknowledged as the leading satellite technology for high speed broadband. This makes it an extremely attractive option for our business users".
