MSN's '
Anatomy of Modern Conversation' study has found that using the Internet to chat "
limits" us to an average of seven topics per day:
The seven different lines of conversation include culture (sport and news), food, social activity (going out and holidays), solidarity (boredom, stress and weather), money and ambition, relationship and general banter such as joke telling.
Of these seven topics single men only chat about culture, money and ambition, social activity and general banter, while women skip between five and seven topics.
The MSN Messenger study also reveals that over three quarters (76 per cent) of our solidarity conversations and 85 per cent of our money and ambition conversations happen on what the report dubs Morose Mondays.*cough*.. Somehow those seven topics seem about comparable with real-life banter as well ("limits"?) =]. More @
