Several of the UKs leading ISPs, BT Yahoo, AOL and
Telewest, have stressed that partnerships with content and application providers will form a key part of future strategies:
Duncan Ingram, CEO of BT Openworld, trumpeted the success of the company's partnerships with Yahoo, announced last June, and more recently with games console suppliers, Sony and Microsoft to target the gaming community.
Chad Raube, director of internet services at Telewest Broadband, also agreed that new products such as content/service bundles, access tiers, and Wi-Fi connectivity options, something that it is aggressively pushing, will help to drive further growth.
Meanwhile, AOL UK focused investment on its content offering last year, partnering for exclusive content, such as streaming content from Big Brother and the Rugby World Cup, which David Carr, VP, Broadband, said helped attract new subscribers.In related news,
