Amserve renews multi-million pound contract with THUS until 2009

THUS Group plc, one of the UK's leading providers of voice, data, Internet and contact centre services, today announced that Amserve Ltd had renewed its contract with THUS to provide telecommunications services for its Amstrad e-m@iler and e-m@ilerplus products. The multi-million pound contract will run until January 2009 and will support new as well as existing products.

"This is a major endorsement of the high quality service that THUS provides its customers," said Phil Male, Chief Operating Officer of THUS plc. "We have been working closely with Amserve since 2001 and have consistently developed new ideas and services for them. The e-m@iler reaches an audience of more than 1 million people and had sold around 300,000 units by 31 December 2003. Consequently, it needs a robust and cost effective telecommunications solution. We are, therefore, delighted that we will now have the opportunity to work with Amserve on this exciting product for at least another five years."

Simon Sugar, Commercial Director at Amstrad Ltd added: "THUS has consistently exceeded our expectations and has delivered an excellent service for our customers. We still believe that there is significant untapped demand for the e-m@iler and that its simplicity and value for money will continue to drive demand. THUS's flexible and pragmatic approach has made it very easy for us to renew our contract and we look forward to continuing this strong relationship."

THUS first started working with Amstrad in September 2001 when it developed the platform for the e-m@iler and in April 2003, THUS enabled an important enhancement to the service, allowing two-way SMS texting between the e-m@iler and mobile phones for the first time. In December 2003, THUS worked with Amstrad to introduce the new CopyMail function, allowing users to nominate an e-mail address which then automatically receives copies of all messages sent or received by the e-m@iler.
