Key Nasdaq And MTV Events Utilize the SATLYNX BBI Platform
The SATLYNX versatile two-way high speed satellite Broadband Interactive platform (BBI) was used by communications company, DC-Sat.Net, to provide web casting and high-speed communications to two major international annual events.
In London, SATLYNX' BBI data streaming capabilities were used to web cast Nasdaq's 11th Technology Conference. The data streams 72,000km round-trip journey via satellite delivered live and uninterrupted conference coverage to thousands of people in remote locations throughout the world.
Edinburgh hosted this year's MTV European Music Awards, which was watched by an estimated one billion people in 28 countries. DC-Sat.Net used the SATLYNX BBI platform to provide the MTV press office with broadband capacity so that photographers could send digital pictures of the evening to their news desks via a satellite uplink.
BBI is compliant with the DVB-RCS open standard (EN301 790). BBI is designed to meet ever-increasing demands in Europe for high-speed data delivery and communications.
