Anti-spam group Brightmail has reported that SPAM (junk e-mail) accounted for 56% of all e-mails sent during last month, November 2003. Two years ago the figure stood closer to just 7%!:
The biggest volumes of nuisance email blocked by anti-spam specialist Brightmail during the month were product promos (22% of all spam messages), financial offers (17%), adult (16%) and scams (13%).The Register reminds us that the UK governments new anti-spam laws are due to be enforced from 11th December this month. Not that it'll make much difference.
