Wi-Fi specialists Broadreach Networks and PointShot Wireless have signed a new deal that's designed to give rail operators the ability to offer broadband wireless Internet access on their trains:
The company, which is backed by Virgin, BT and Intel Capital, has already completed its first trial for a Wi-Fi service with Virgin Trains when it installed equipment at Birmingham International, Manchester Piccadilly and London Euston stations mid last year.
The move follows a deal in December between the two companies to launch a Wi-Fi service for the London to Scotland train service run by GNER and Broadreach's recent announcement that it has signed deals for access to more than 370 railway stations across the UK, including major London terminals.More @
