BISCIT has become the first provider, which we know off, to introduce an off-peak broadband ADSL product. Despite not being always-on, it still costs £23.99 per month inc. VAT.
The service itself is a standard 50:1 contended 512Kbps connection, although you do get a free Samsung XIOD USB Modem. However there's also a lengthy 12 month contract to consider and typical £55 setup fee.
The connection itself is available between 7pm and 6am Monday to Thursday and 7pm Friday to 6am Monday. Overall the initial novelty is lost against the lengthy contract and unimpressive pricing level.
Putting aside the whole Ofcom issue about whether anything 'not' always-no could be considered 'broadband' in the first place, it still begs a simple question if its not any cheaper, then why? Source -
