Plusnet's 512Kbps ADSL For £14.99!

Posted: 30th Apr, 2004 By: MarkJ
In an attempt to undercut the growing number of rivals offering entry-level broadband ADSL services, UK ISP Plusnet has launched a capped 512Kbps package for just £14.99 inc. VAT per month!:

PlusNet's £14.99 high-speed broadband tears up the rule book

Full-fat 512k broadband access at £14.99 month! PlusNet today announce this startling news, sure to be warmly welcomed by the UK consumer, promising full on, high-speed broadband, at a dial up price.

Today's launch of 'Broadband Home Lite', a full '10x faster than dial up' always-on product, is set to create a huge stir in the market, setting the pace for the next generation of home Internet access products.

Marco Potesta, Marketing Director at PlusNet said, "PlusNet has consistently and aggressively sought to drive down the price of UK broadband by offering great value products for the consumer. To now be in a position to offer a market-leading, classic 512k broadband product, priced at only £14.99 a month, is an extremely exciting
prospect for us. We believe this represents the best deal around.

"For less than 50p a day you've got the convenience of always-on Internet access that doesn't hog the phone line, and the bandwidth to enjoy digital streaming movies and music - not to mention the performance to cope with downloads, home networking and online gaming.

PlusNet are well known for offering high-value products at low cost. Broadband Home Lite provides a quantum leap in value and allows up to 1GB of data to be transferred every month - plenty of room for downloading music and files, shopping, email and online games.

Broadband Home Lite gives you the following benefits:

* High-speed 512k broadband access download speeds
* It's always-on and you can use the phone at the same time
* Free anti-virus and spam-protection for your email
* Unlimited number of email addresses
* Local-rate help and technical support
* Online help & support centre featuring 'Contact Us'
* Choice of broadband modem or use your own
* ADSL Tracker keeps you informed every step of the way

If that wasn't enough good news for one day, PlusNet has announced that for a limited introductory period there will be no charge for those moving to the new product from other broadband providers.

"For those unhappy with their current overpriced provider, we're offering a completely free and easy way to move to PlusNet. All we need to know is your CBUK code number and we have full details of how to get this at our website," explained Marco Potesta.

With BT's recent commitment to upgrading every single exchange in the UK and research into extending broadband availability, beginning with trials this summer, it won't be too long before virtually everyone who can get broadband will have broadband. PlusNet's latest product offering goes a further giant stride to bringing Broadband Britain a step nearer.

PlusNet were voted 'Best Broadband Provider' by PC Pro and 'Best ISP on the Planet' by Internet Magazine.

Yes, there's a 1GB per month cap, but at £14.99 inc. VAT per month you can’t really argue.

Having said that, we must question the press releases promotion of the service, which makes it appear a lot like an unrestricted offer (Full-fat?).
